2019 Tahoe piston head broke

Asked by Cm4walker Jun 19, 2020 at 05:32 PM about the 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe LT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was told that it was common for a
2019 Tahoe to have a broken piston
head? It has 47k miles and has
been maintained regularly
fortunately it is covered by the
Powertrain warranty.

Check with your Chevy dealer or GM customer service, but your warranty for the power train should be 5 years and under 60K miles which you meet in both cases.

They said the head and may need to replace the entire piston. It idled terrible and had no power behind it when I stepped on the gas. Had some white smoke out the back and engine ran rough.

Yes perhaps that’s what it is but the service manager said this was a common issue with the Tahoe? My previous Tahoe I had for 12 years and never an engine issue. 180k miles
