Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have problems with tires. Rear tires worn down so quickly, versus front ones. We drove to Florida and back 3.000 miles aprox. WE live in Canada. Tires brand are Hercules all terain. Tire shop wont give me anything under waranty. These tires have only 30.000 miles on it. 3 years old. I paid $800.00 for it. Tire shop told me that maybe rear bushings went bad.???? How is that again. I did notes that tire surface was almost white, like driving on gravel road. After a while tires colour turned to normal. Tires rear wore down evenly. Outer edges have iregular patern wear out. Could be that Georgia and Florida heat made these tires too soft.??
Any input ??
Thank You very much

if you worn the tires out on the edges that sounds like your alignment is bad on the rear (camber), from what you posted sounds a little like bad camber, you should stop somewhere and have them do an alignment check on your car also if they are all terrain they wont last as long on the pavement as they will the dirt and gravel, also you say you put 30,000 miles on them, that's a fair amount of miles especially considering what I said about driving them on the pavement, so that's something to consider as well, one thing I didn't understand is what you meant by "Tire shop wont give me anything under warranty" what do you mean by that? that they wont refund any money or that they wont give you a warranty on a new set of tires cause of what happened to these last ones ? or something else?

Hi Daniel Thank you for your input. I meant when i said that tire shop wont give me anything under Waranty. That is to go to tire manufacturer and ask them to cover remaining treads under waranty. Yes i was looking into replacing these tires with new ones from same tire shop. Replacing tires means nothing if problem(s) are found before hand. I work on cars for past four decades and plus. Started back in old country on Fiats. Still dont know why tires turned "white" on surface.?
