Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just replaced the battery in my 2005 Mini Cooper S.  Recently it became really hard to steer and now I can't get it to start.  Tried a boost but as soon as the cables came off, the car stopped.  Thoughts?

Power steering fluid, power steering pump, or steering rack. These are common issues with steering, start with fluid, making sure it is the proper DOT number as stated in your owner's manual. Fill it only to the line scribed on the well. Start with that first, if it is not that then do as Tom said, if t is not that, then check the steering rack
