Mini Cooper S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Making a left into my slightly inclined Drive way.  My cooper wouldnt drive.  I pushed it to find a piece of broken metal pipe & a metal tie.  I can  hear something turning while the motor is on.  The motor starts but it will not drive, no leakage. Manual transmission.  Any ideas what could have broken off?  I was at a complete stop making a left up an incline, wasnt going fast.

Did the parts look like any part of this (see attached link). If so, you probably broke an axle shaft.
