Engine heater cord question

I recently purchased a 2019 Buick Encore and since it’s going to be -30 tonight
I fished out the engine heater cord. The question is where is it supposed to
come out of the car. Everything I read says don’t close the hood on the cord
but how is it supposed to be accessible to plug into the outlet?

I would partially close the hood. Make sure the cord is not pinched. Some people route the cord out the grill or under the front bumper.

That would be fine if I put the cord away every time I used it but it’s winter in Saskatchewan so I plug the car in at night and unplug it before the drive to work so I don’t want to be packing it all away every morning
