Power locks

Asked by John Oct 22, 2017 at 04:00 PM about the 2001 Mercury Sable GS Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

All of the locks neither lock or unlock with the fob
or the switch inside.  They act like they want to go
up and down but they don't actually do anything.
Any ideas on what could be going on?

Power locks work with a Negative - and not a Positive + /// check fuses first before anything else Some power locks go through the body module (not the ECU) .. a body module is an auxiliary computer but not the main computer ,,, It should be either under the dash or in the engine compartment ...
