Not worth it, get another vehicle, also , it's way too old for this kind of investment..
It's been done, but takes lots of modification. Way back in around 1990 we put a 460 Ford engine in a Ranger, man it was tight and lots of cutting had to be done.

Uhhh, he didn't ask for advise. He asked what he needed to do to put a 5.0 V-8 in place of a 3.0 V-6 in a vehicle that was never designed for a V-8. There is way too much to that conversion to be explained on this forum, but if can be accomplished. It will be a fun ride when it gets done.

Mark, vehicle customization is also never a good financial decision. Case in point when I had my C6 Corvette I put on $3200.00 worth of tires and wheels, I also installed a full Z06 exhaust system. These modifications did little for the car except made it look better and sound a little meaner (my opinion). In the end I shrank my wallet for some look at me feel good gratification. I had to put the original wheels and tires back on when I traded it in on the Lincoln. I still have the nearly new wheels and tires taking up space in my garage, nobody seems to want them.
Too bad about those fancy wheels..... I understand about "stuff that accumulates" , I would try putting it on eBay.. Yes, you certainly are not the first person I've heard that did special modifications on a car. I know someone who collects old cars, has 1941 Mercury, with flames that shoot out the rear end....not a gas saver.. And, he takes his car to car shows and wins awards.... SO, it's all about what you are into. I can't afford or want anything more than a reliable and relatively fuel efficient car for towing my teardrop trailer. I know that you HATE Subarus... don't really know why? You know people apparently who owns them, but, you have never had one , correct? In case, I didn't share my rig with you, here's a picture... On my last trip, I got an average of 21.5. MPG pulling my teardrop.. And, my other gas saver is a 2009 Toyota Prius. Why did you get rid of the Corvette?? Could you have just kept this as a Sunday car??
Guys! I would have no problem dropping 10 grand in a car if I love it. I'm sure I'm not the only one. And I may do it again. I can't find a new car that I like.
