1998 FORD MUSTANG WON'T SHIFT INTO DRIVE BUT WILL GO IN REVERSE. WHAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE?

My 97 convertible will not go in drive but it will go in reverse what could it be

Most likely be the sun shell inside trans . If u checked fluid level and linkages. U could get it rolling past 20mph 2nd get should engage
