Door latch rod problems or the latch itself could be bad. Only way to tell is to get the door panel off and see what has happened.
As the car's that recent, I'd suspect a problem with the electrical service to the door. maybe a bad switch or panel, or even a fob with a low battery. It needs to be checked out by someone who has the skills to find out.
