Question type: General

Hello there,
I have a 2001 mazda tribute. I unhooked the negative terminal on the battery, lifted it up from one side to remove some litter underneath and I hooked up. Now the car will not start. All dashboard lights on, windows work and wipers but will not crank trying to start it. Can anyone help me out please?
Thanks in anticipation.

you have to have a bad connection.. remove Both cables, clean with Battery post cleaner ,if that don't work check the connections from battery to ground and to starter or relay..just because you have some power to radio etc. dose not mean you have enough to crank..good luck

Thanks ShannonC. The terminals were cleaned.but will check the connections from battery to ground/starter/relay as you said. Hopefully that will work. cheers!

Change the ignition switch. Common problem with Mazda n Ford. To test, turn key to on position, check all lights on dash come on, jiggle key in and around, try starting...if it starts, change ign switch.
