My Mazda 2001 tribute rpms jump up to 2000 after starting and does not come down. What could be causing this?
The engine was replaced within the last week. The mechanic said he tried all the hardware fixes he could and nothing worked. He suggested taking to the dealer for a computer check to see if the codes needed to be reprogrammed. This actually occurred on the old engine as well before it died.
it is a vacuum leak. Replace the butyl rubber vacuum hoses with silicone hoses such as BMW and the police interceptors use~ a tall order of chewing gum is what we're relying on ...cheap to manufacture~.....check the diagnostic codes a sensor such as the IAT (intake air temp) sensor may not be displaying the intake plenum temp correctly causing the computer to run lean...also the classic case of your fuel pressure regulator who's hose has fallen off and is leakin' vacuum there and NOT providing any fuel regulation~
Do check the operation with a sucking tool....your baster might have enough but you could use your mouth to see if there is a change in flow...if the diaphragm is still okay~
