Engine light came on

If the light was red do not attempt to run anymore and tow it to a shop and have it checked before engine damage occurs. If it was a yellow light then get the codes read and then run diagnostics to find out what is going on.

Your car has an owners manual, available online. Read it to find all the possible causes for the various engine lights in your car. Then just follow their recommendations. Could be anything from a loose gas cap to a blown head gasket.
