1998 Ford Explorer 6cyl.Stalling

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Any connection to sputtering problem and my BT music through my radio
suddenly speeding up? Seriously I thought I was listen to "They're Coming to
Take Me Away"....... The stalling and choking out started a few weeks ago.
I've been using cruise control on the highway to keep from sputtering, but it
got worse.
2 weeks I went to Auto Zone  and had them put it on the computer. Theprint
out said Bank 1 lean Bank 2 Lean...replace MAF.  My research says it's
highly that both O2 censors went at the same time so it's probably the MAF.
On my way to pick up the part the whole twilight zone thing started with the
radio....freaked me out so I just turned it off.
.I just changed the MAF and it didn't help at all........help!!!
I'm 70 and was hoping to make this last until I couldn't drive anymore.

Dr. Demento is coming for you! Post any trouble codes you have. I assume you were listening to a tape or CD?

He mentioned that he was playing the music through the bluetooth. As for the banks running lean and rough idle....could be the idle air control valve is dirty or worn out, or even the egr valve
