how to fix a temp gadge on a 1998 ford explorer

i replaced the thermostat housing now the temp gadge doesn't work

Recheck and make sure you plugged the temprture sending unit back in,it is right at the housing,if it is plugged in,then isending unit may be bad.

.after putting it back together the leak stopped fine but I notice the te gauge inside the vehicle stopped working but it was working before I took it apart.This why Iasked for help with it because I just couldn't figure it out.Thank you for your answer it sounds about right and I will get back with you to let you know if it takes care the problem. uncleyahya.
