If I remember correctly , the fuel pump inertia switch is in the right front passenger footwell , above the carpet , in the corner by the kick panel P.S. the owners manual states it is behind the kick panel on a 1998 Ford Explorer

thought about the inertia switch oldtimer, he would be without spark too if that were bad right?

I didn't see anywhere that he said it had spark or tried to turn over. I still think I would start with the inertia switch.
