2018 - Jeep Cherokee Service Shifter

Asked by Sarah May 04, 2021 at 11:05 AM about the 2018 Jeep Cherokee Overland 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had a 2018 Jeep Cherokee with about 49,000 miles on it. The service
shifter light popped up so I brought it to the dealership, they said the shifter
needs to be replaced because it doesn't recognize it is in park but they said
it's driveable and nothing is going to happen. It is going to cost $1,110 to
replace it.  My question is does it actually need to be replaced or are they
just trying to get money?

Jeeps have a lot of electronic problems which is why I do not recommend them. Get another opinion if you don't trust the dealer.
