car wont go int gear, engine just revs up but doesn't move

what can I check for any suggestions?

This is probably your Transmission, but it could also be your Transfer case. Have you had anyone look at it yet?

It has to much tranmission oil just checked it about one quart to much maybe thats why car does not move forward or backward ,help

my 2002 lincoln continental was parked valet in the Bronx and when I went to pick it up it would go, engine runs fine only 69k miles but when shift into gear ,nothing, what could be the possible issues? I have noticed that the tranny fluid level is now high when that morning when I checked it it was perfect. I'm an ASE cert retired tech but still can't dignose the issue, could it be electronic, or a bad torque converter? I did see a fault code on the converter when I scanned it.
