Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just replaced the engine on my Lincoln ls and now the ran does not seem to be working . Does it suppose to come on as soon as I crank the car or does it only come on when the car is starting to run hot ?

this one could be activated one of two ways....a thermal switch in the veins of the radiator...or the ECU paying attention to it's block sensor....the ECU will tell it to come on when the operating temperature of 195 is reached...if it aint doin' that can recommend a kit if changing the temperature sender ain't doin it....mkay?

There's been some debate on whether or not that it should be switched with the ignition ON only...but crazies like me think that it should run until the block temperature has dropped far below operating temp by say 15 degrees or so~
