Drivers Side Door Not Locking Electronically

Asked by P1zon Jun 10, 2019 at 08:15 PM about the 2001 Lincoln Continental FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 Lincoln Continental with about
125,000 miles and I've run into a problem with the
drivers side door lock. For some reason the door
will unlock normally with the key fob and with the
interior button, but will not lock with the same
methods and has to be locked manually. None of
the other doors have this issue and I was
wondering if this was some kind of wiring issue or
something.

might be a synch problem with the key fob. I have a 2003 VW and have a similar issue with my doors as well. All doors worked just fine at first, then one quit working and now the driver side back door quit reacting to the system. If NOT the key fob, then there could be a sensor that is just going ugly.
