Gas smell in oil and white smoke

02 Lincoln LS V8 has gas smell in oil and white
smoke has rough idle what could be the cause

Could be a problem with a fuel injector. One or more of them could be plugged or leaking. Fuel pressure regulator diaphram can also leak - after running the engine remove the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator and see if gas leaks from it. (my guess is your problem is with the injectors tho.) Have a shop test them or buy/rent test equipment to do an injector balance test.
