Check Engine Light on

So I was recently doing donuts with my 18
Silverado (hitting high rpms for a while), and after
my truck gave me:
1. A “service stabili track” prompt
2. An “idle engine overheat”
3. Check engine light
Anyways so I turned off the truck and let it sit for a
while, and then after say 15 minuets the engine
returned to normal heat and I drove to a party and it
sat there for about an hour. Then I drove for about
an hour home and the engine light stayed on the
whole way. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

If the check engine light's on, have an OBD plugged up to tell you what's wrong. And also as for hitting high RPM's while doing donuts.....if you play stupid games, you get stupid prizes.

Unless you're out of warranty because of mileage, take it to your local Chevrolet Dealer and get it fixed for free. Don't tell them what you were doing when the check engine light, etc. came on. This will void the warranty!! Failures from abuse are not covered under warranty! Hope that helps! Jim

The primary problem is a loose nut behind the wheel.
