I'm debating taking a crate 602 racing motor
and shoving it into my 1979 z28 camaro....
anybody know of any reasons (besides it
being a sealed motor) that I may have a
problem with this quest for HP ?

The camaro also has the turbo350 automatic transmission. Fyi.
The drive train is not built for that power level and the suspension/brakes/cooling system aren't either. That level of HP requires a upgrade of EVERY system in the car.
I was assuming some components may need upgraded, but isn't a crate 602 just a sealed 350 block built slightly more aggressively? I've upgraded the brake system the rear suspension and the the radiator will be replaced with a larger racing style one. Also plan on buying electric fan conversion. Frame connectors will be added
There are a lot of crate engines. When you say 602 is that cubic inches? If this is just a 350/350 then you don't need to do much and you won't see a big bump in performance either.
Sorry I should have been more specific. Circle track engine for Sprint cars basically a 350 affectionately known as the 602 chevy crate
Thought you were talking a monster big block. Personally I would go for more power but have fun and good luck.
