exactly what tools are needed to change a fuel pump on a 99 kia sportage?

Not to many,you will need a hammer,flat head screw driver,and small socket, set,Remove cover i think in very back,or could be under rear seat,there are diagram,s below,to help you.

Hello. I am replacing a fuel filter on my 2002 Kia sportage 2 door. Does the fuel pump assembly sit inside the square baffle inside the tank? Both parts (filter & siphon / & the fuel level float? I am having difficulty getting it to sit nicely into the tank.
