Gear shift indicator light

My wife’s 2018 gear shift indicator light not
working. She says it used to work. I too thought it
lit up when she first got it. Ford service dept says
NO they did away with that
NOT BUYIN IT, IT LIT WHEN sHE FIRST GOT THE
CAR

No, the gear shift does not light up. It just has the gear indicator on the dash.
