idling issued

Asked by jwood2 Jan 04, 2017 at 05:18 PM about the 2001 Kia Rio Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Back again. My kia still wont idle uless i pedal the gas enough to get it
in gear and drive it about 1-2 miles. Then it idels fine until i turn it off
and try to crank it agan. Then it starts all over.  Been driving it like this
for almost a week and still no check engine light. So i cant get it
scanned to what the problem is and all the mechanics i have taken it
to cant give me a deffinent answer, they just want to keep it for a few
days to try to figure it out. But its my only vehicle and if i dont work i
cant pay for the car to be fixed. So im kind of stuck. It all started when
i took battery cable off to clean it. I know alittle bit about cars but this
has got me stumped. If anybody has any ideas plz let me know.

Thanks
