1999 for tauras, tranmission shift symptoms rpms fine but car sounds loud

my car  sounds loud,  seems to be shifting and not slipping , but sounds like over reviving.
when i get to about 50mph ,  but rpms  are always fine

i dont think so it dosnt feel like that it just seems car is reviving up kinda like , sounds like a transmission thing but rpms are fine and ive have no idea what part to buy i cant afford to take it to a place but my brother in law said he will fix it after i get the parts
