My 2018 f150 with the 5.0 dropped oil pressure at 5400 rpm and lost power

the engine and it was back to normal

Damn, do you have to check oil in these newer vehicles?

Seems like I have heard a nasty rumor that the new 5.0 engines might just use oil.

My 2018 used a little in the first 5,000 miles then dried up. Wasn't in the least bit worried about it, but I did pull that thing with the yellow handle out and check it. My 2020 F150 King Ranch uses no oil so far in 3,500 miles.

Yep. Some 5.0 engines are good and some are disasters. If the plasma coating fails the engine is toast.
