why aren't there any 5 series, 535 minimum, that are certified pre owned?

In my area in the Midwest; BMW certify most of them unless the car is unsound and they skip it! It cost them around $1,500+ to certify it for additional 1 year and then then market it as 5 years from the time of service(first owner/leaser). BMW has a 4 year warranty on a new car. The local BMW dealer use this promotion to fend off other sellers of BMWs in their area while asking higher selling price. I just do not see how that is rational to ask $3-$5K more for it but people are buying in to it! I tend to go with a non BMW seller and use this again them! LOL! They hate it!
