help please... my93 yj keeps dieing at random while driving ??

The issue... I've replaced my fuel pump twice in the same month, my yj will stop
running out of the blue. And when I try to start it back up it acts like its out of
gas.  However if I bang on my fuel tank it will start rite up... My jeep died on me
last week and wouldn't start. I smacked the fuel tank and was able ride the
clutch close to home and then pushed it the rest of the way. It sat for two days,
and I went to see if it would start and it fired rite up with no issues. Any clues on
what's causing this to happen???
