why do I have to hit the gas for my car to start

it usually starts right up, but sometimes it takes longer when cranking up and soon as I hit the gas it starts.

The idle air control motor may be sticking. Or the fuel pump may be bleeding back to tank. Have you tried to KEY the vehical a couple of times and then try to start it? Flip key on,off, wait a few seconds, turn key on again and then try to start.

no i havent tried that. it start always starts. its juts that sometimes when i crank it, it doesnt crank until i hit the gas after sitting over night. i was just trying to diagnose it before it something went bad
