Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Got a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT with the 3.0 L V6.
Transmission is going out so I'm going to have to
replace it, but is there a better transmission that I can
get or am I just stuck with the transmission that's on
the 30?

You are stuck unless you convert it to a 5 speed which will be a good deal of work.

The manual conversion would be easier than trying to install a newer automatic. Not saying it cannot be done but it could be a real nightmare.
