01 Honda accord ex 2.3l 4cyl

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

In the past few months it would run ok till i shut it
off. Then it wouldnt start very well until it sat for a
while. If i had to i could start by keeping my foot on
brake and increasing gas, putting in gear at same
time. Once it was in gear drove ok. Other day i
drove a short distance and home, it was fine. Put in
a new main relay and the car wont drive. Idles
rough, put in gear, sputters and backfires. If romp
on it you can get to 60mph but if you slow down it
sputters and stalls again. Cleaned iac valve, new
tps, new dist, rotor, plugs wires, has spark, took cat
off, still does the same so putting cat back on.
Have been good about changing oil and filters too.
Now what?

Sounds as if you have a weak fuel pump, have the pressure tested when cold and after the car has heated up...
