98 Jeep Wrangler- 4 Cyl. Loss of Oil Pressure

Asked by lewisjeep1 Sep 11, 2015 at 09:46 PM about the 1998 Jeep Wrangler SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After driving my Jeep to IL from PA, I noticed a loss of power. Car stalled.
Pulled over. Tried to start it sputtered. Have gas. No visible leaks (at Night).
Had to tow it last 10 miles to destination with all college stuff. Son says
blown engine. I didn't hear any unusual noises. Thinking maybe oil pump, or
perhaps oil was low, and now engine if fried? Your thoughts are
appreciated!

Thanks Tom, RV63. I wish that I was currently with the car to evaluate. Will keep you posted on what we find. Car is being towed tomorrow to repair shop. J
