BF/AU transmission swap

Asked by Cameron Jul 20, 2017 at 11:06 AM about the 2000 Ford Falcon AU Sedan

Question type: Car Customization

My friend has a 2000 Falcon with a blown trans
and a 2006 falcon with a blown engine. He wants
to know if he can swap the transmission from the
2006 to the 2000. Both cars are 4.0l I6, both are 4
speed auto with the M93LE transmission.
Apparently though the internals are different for
the 2006. He wants to know if there will be any
modifications necessary or if he can't just swap it
straight up.

I presume you are referring to the Aussie Falcon. Then we are looking at the 1996 EF Falcon and the 2000 AU Falcon. The Auto Transmissions are both 93LE autos. The AU is a more refined engine and has a more advanced and refined engine. The only difference in thee Auto transmission from what I have seen is the bell housing. When fitting the AU Transmission the the transmission has to be re calibrated for that particular car. Wee had these cars in South Africa
