Key Fobs

Asked by nyweb Feb 24, 2017 at 02:42 PM about the 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just bought another 1999 Cherokee Sport. Original Dealer Price sticker in
the glove box says the Jeep came with keyless remotes. Guy I bought it
from says he don't know what happened to them. Anyone have any luck
with buying them and doing the programming yourself ? A lot of sites post a
routine to go through but they mostly say I need one remote to do it. Trying
to avoid going to the dealer or a locksmith.

Try the owners manual first to see what needs to be done, if it can be done, purchase them and program away.

Yeah I looked. No luck. I guess I'll spend the $30.00 and try the self programming. Worse case scenario is I'll have to take it to the dealer.
