What is the horsepower of the 3.8 liter engine in a 1999 convertable with an automatic transmission?

Hi fireman. The engine itself put out 190 HP @ 5,250 rpm; 220 ft lb , 298 Nm @ 2,750 rpm. I'm sure the auto transmission cuts into that minimally but I couldn't find the specs on that. Hope this helps! Good luck

And if you want an estimate of what is going to the wheels, this rule applies fairly well: For automatic transmissions, multiply the net horsepower by .78 For manual transmissions, multiply the net bhp by .84 So for a 190 bhp engine, the rear wheel hp would be around 190 x .78, or about 148 with automatic transmission and 190 x .84, or almost exactly 160 rwhp with a manual.
