To get the most out of your Jeep, check your owners manual or buy one on Ebay for about $25. Having the Limited Edition Jeep, you will have either the Quadra Trac II or Quadra Drive system. Either way, put your transfer case lever forward into the "4 All Time" four wheel drive system. It is fully automatic, applying power to the wheels with the most traction. Quadra Drive is the same deal except it has limited slip differentials front and back. That's the range you should drive in for everyday conditions, year round. Okay. For extreme conditions: Shift to "4 Lo", with engine idling, transmission in neutral, vehicle stopped or coasting 1 mph, gently slip transfer case lever back into "4 Lo". This multiplies your power by 2.73. You can go up 40 mph like that for driving under extreme conditions. Don't run dry roads in this range, it strains the drive train in sharp turns. Test it out before you need it. I have a 1999 Limited w/Quadra Trac II......twelve years...never been stuck out here in the Bad Lands.
