Jeep cut off

Asked by Tyron Oct 12, 2019 at 07:42 AM about the 2001 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought this Jeep it has high mileage 195,000
miles. On three occasions it had a hard time
cutting on I had to step on the gas to make the
engine race just to keep the truck on to get it
started what is that? Possibly need a tune-up?

A tune up couldn't hurt. Also check the fuel pressure, you may have a bad fuel pressure regulator.
