Oil Pressure gauge not behaving normally

Asked by Bryan Jun 25, 2020 at 09:54 PM about the 2012 GMC Yukon XL Denali 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I Have a 2012 Yukon XL Denali with just under 190k miles.
Just got done replacing the transmission. Before the oil
pressure gauge would stay right at around 40. Now the oil
pressure gauge seems to be running high especially at first
after it's been sitting, but after a while it flattens back to
normal at about 40 instead of about 50. Sometimes it will dip
just below 40  as well mostly when stoped or applying
Brakes/slowing down. Any idea what's going on?
