2002 GMC Yukon Denali - SES light on after battery died

I had my ignition switch turned to the "ON" position this afternoon, and totally
forgot about it being on.  After being on for a minimum of 2 hours, my battery had
all but died - Denali wouldn't crank, windows wouldn't come up, etc.  So, I
connected a batter charger for about 5 minutes & got Denali to crank.  HOWEVER,
the Service Engine Soon light is now on & I can't get it to turn off!  I drove vehicle
around my subdivision, which is exactly 1 mile, but the light is still on.  How can I
fix this?

First you should drive the vehicle for a minimum of 65 miles. If that doesn't correct it, it needs to have a "Cycle" performed. If you know anyone who owns an "OBD-II" scanner it is as simple as plugging and erasing. I own one and it works perfectly in this case. If you take it to a professional shop, they will charge you a diagnostic charge (which they should. Most of those guys go through a couple hundred hours per year training to maintain their certification. Not to mention that the tools they own can cost upwards of a couple hundred thousand dollars.) There are two things that you should really try to avoid concerning vehicle ownership. Don't run out of gas and don't allow the battery to go dead. Good luck.

Unplug your battery for 30 mins and it would reset the suv. Hope this help.. it helped me..
