Jeep liberty steering wheel shakes when brakes are applied

'04 Jeep Liberty.  Steering wheel shakes when brakes are applied.  Has got worse over the last couple weeks.  Brake pedal does not pulse though.  Brakes/Rotors? Ball Joints/Tie Rods?

53,000 miles. Pretty low for the age. I'm gonna go check the rotors shortly though.

Thanks for the info. Sure enough, the rotors were really bad. Changed them and the pads. NO SHAKING!!
