A Ford Exporer truck? They made a Sporttrac from 2001-2010, which was a pickup version of the Explorer sport.

Basically, yes. The 99 explorer came with both the V6 and V8 engines. Just make sure the tranny's are the same or interchangeable. You may have to change over some of the electronics also.
