2017 Ford Focus Blinking Red light Random honks

Asked by Claudia Nov 10, 2017 at 05:48 PM about the 2017 Ford Focus SE

Question type: General

There is a small button behind my steering wheel
that sometimes flashes red. The button can not be
pressed. When it flashes my car randomly honks. I
can be completely alone on the road. There doesn't
seem to be a logical reason for the button to flash.
What is it and how can I fix it?

sure sounds like the security system, esp. with the honking. nothing in owners manual?

Turns out it is the anti theft sensor. Something is triggering it when i open the car and while I'm driving it. I have an appointment with the dealer next week. If the problem is my electronic key, that's not covered under my warranty. If it's the sensor on the car, then it will be covered. Thanks for responding.
