1999 ford explorer eddie bauer edition v8

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So we thought it was the starter and got it tested
the starter is fine. We can start the car from
underneath the car but notnthe normal way so we
think it is the starter solenoid that is not attached
to the starter but for this car we can not find it
anywhere but we searched the part but can't finx
where it originates in the car

Locate the battery under the hood. Follow the positive wire from the battery. The solenoid should be located bolted to the fender well near the battery.

I have a 98 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition . I was told my starter is fine but the car recently fluttered and completely shut off in the street. Also when I turn it on and put it in drive it accelorrates on it's own. I don't have to put my foot on the gas more like the brake because it's Driving on it own. It sounds weird and I would. Ever make this up. I find that some mechanics don't have experience with these older models so they have no idea what's wrong with it. Any advice or remarks PLEASE!!
