2017 Edge... The rear hatch closes without any buttons being pushed and it
doesn't stop when something is in the way. Am I or a dog going to be closed in
it one day when we don't move fast enough?

Did you find a fix for this? My 2018 just started doing this. Almost closed my neck and now I'm afraid to use it.

Yes this happened to me just got out of the way on time ,almost lost my arm. It happened two other times but I was very quick, dealer said they found no issues.
