where is the valve for the heater core

I got conflicting information, From: http://community.cartalk.com/discussion/2133677/expedition-no-heat-heater-control-valve-where-is-it: The Expedition does not use a heater control valve to regulate flow through the heater core ..But then I found this, 1999 Ford Expedition heater core valve image search:

i just got this 1998 expedition i changed the thermastat today took it for a ride it hot then went right to cold so i dont know except to try blowing out the hoses,thanks gus.
