Question type: General

1994 trooper by 3.2 4wd . Manual calls
for 6qt. of motor oil. After driving,
letting sit, the dipstick indicates a
quart past full line.? Could there be
alot of solid engine buildup taking up
space?

Not likely that you have that much sludge. Oil capacities usually include the oil filter. If you do not change the filter it would be over filled.

Thanks very much. I did change filter and oil added 6q ran the car it sat for a day and the dipstick indicated 1qt over full.

Thank you again. That's what I did. Would either underfilled oil or overfilled cause lifter to stick?

If the oil was frothed up (overfilled) you could end up with oil starvation.
