I bought a 2017 Subaru Forester, the battery died, the dealership blamed it on me leaving the headlight switch on. The headlights aren't on all the time so how is that draining the battery?

My 2017 battery would drain and the dealer didn't find/fix the cause until I left the car there for a week or so -- had to replace the component tyhat was draining the battery: telematyics control module.
