2017 Buick lacrosse temperature sensor replacement

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I need to replace the engine coolant temperature sensor (and probably the thermostat as well) on a 2017 Buick Lacrosse premium (V6). It is under the intake manifold. The dealer wants $1,700. Parts are about $300. What all is involved in this repair? Is there a manual I can get that shows how to do this? (I have done a successful head gasket replacement on a Subaru so I think I'm up to the task, just would like some directions.)

Just go to a good car parts store and get a good service manual. they're around thirty bucks and explain repairs step-by-step. There's a lot to do, but it is pretty easy.

3.6 v-6 you will need to remove the manifold to access it... see youtube for instructions.
