Transfer of traction front and back

I was informed that the 2017 Hyundai Elantra GL would add some traction to
rear wheels if front wheels are spinning in snow, is it true.
If true, how does it work without a transfer case

Gearbox. The wonders of the new era, where/when everything has electric components and is made of... Plastic :)

Not true unless it is all wheel drive. According to the Hyundai website that car is ONLY available in front wheel drive. Link posted below.
